Amazon removes Alexa voice control of older Echo AUX inputs

Amazon has disabled Alexa voice commands for controlling AUX inputs on several older Echo speakers, a spokesperson confirmed to Ars Technica. Commands to play from line-in or set the AUX input no longer work. The change affects the Echo Plus 2nd Gen, Echo 3rd Gen, Echo Studio 1st Gen and Echo 4th Gen. Their physical 3.5 mm inputs still accept audio, and users can enable or disable supported speakers' AUX inputs through the Alexa app.
