Perplexity releases local-first Portable Computer agent
Image: Primary Perplexity has released Portable Computer, a local-first version of its Personal Computer agent. It runs local models and keeps files and work on the user's machine unless the user permits an online step, while still allowing connections to services including Google Drive, Gmail, Slack and GitHub. It is available to paid subscribers on Linux systems with Nvidia RTX hardware; Windows support is planned for September.
