Samsung announced on its US website that the Samsung Messages application will be discontinued in July 2026. The End of Service Announcement states that the Samsung Messages application will be discontinued in July 2026 and directs users to upgrade to Google Messages as their default messaging app to maintain a consistent messaging experience on Android. The change is applicable to the US market only. Samsung advises users to check the Samsung Messages app for the exact date when service will be discontinued. Users of an older Android OS version Android 11 or lower are not affected
