Tower investigates ransomware group's claim of stolen insurer data

Tower investigates ransomware group's claim of stolen insurer data Image: Primary
Tower Insurance is investigating after a ransomware group named it on a cyber-extortion leak site and claimed to have stolen data. Tower described the information as unverified, Stuff reported on October 2. The insurer said it was working with external cybersecurity consultants and had notified relevant authorities. It pledged immediate notification if affected customers or stakeholders are identified. Tower had 323,000 customers as of January 31, 2026. A ransomware group's public listing is an extortion tactic and does not establish that a breach occurred.
