Hanoi attracts $588 mln in H1 registered investment capital as Viettel starts work on semiconductor plant project. High-tech parks and industrial parks in Hanoi attracted over $588 million in registered investment capital during the first half of 2026, supported by new semiconductor projects and continued expansion by foreign manufacturers, the municipal industrial park authority said. The sum included the initial investment capital of Viettel's $1.3 billion semiconductor manufacturing plant project at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. Its ground-breaking ceremony took place on January 16. The project, spanning about 27 hectares, lays the foundation for Hanoi's semiconductor and electronics manufacturing cluster.
