DeepMind reports encrypted pilot for double-blind AI evaluations
Image: Primary Google DeepMind on Aug. 27 reported a pilot that evaluated Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite inside a hardware-encrypted enclave, with Singapore's AI Safety Institute, OpenMined, MLCommons and AVERI participating. The report said the setup protected model weights from evaluators and confidential benchmark prompts from the model provider, using remote attestation and code controls. It ran on a single Nvidia H100 confidential GPU and was described as a pilot, not a production-ready system for larger distributed models.
