Leipzig startup JawBuddy has raised €818k in pre-seed funding led by healthcare platform HALBZEIT to fund an efficacy study and pursue health insurer reimbursement for its jaw therapy app. The total includes the Business Angel Bonus from Sächsische Aufbaubank. JawBuddy says its app adapts home exercise routines using patient assessments, feedback and symptoms, and measures progress through a smartphone camera. It is registered as a Class I medical device under the EU MDR. A multicentre randomised controlled trial involving 130 patients starts in December 2026. The company is also negotiating a care contract with a major statutory health insurer, due to start in early 2027.
