SaaStr says AI-led email tests prompted a newsletter vendor switch

SaaStr says it began moving core newsletter sends to a different vendor after its AI marketing agent compared three providers across more than 500,000 emails this week. The agent found that the incumbent marked a send completed despite records showing 80,708 attempts and 80,708 errors, with no emails sent. A matched campaign test also favored a challenger, although SaaStr cautioned that opens were noisy and raw clicks included security scanners. The company chose a gradual migration rather than moving all 80,000+ subscribers immediately, with increases conditional on bounce, complaint and unsubscribe results.
