Waymo opens Nashville robotaxis to riders as young as 13

Waymo will allow riders as young as 13 to use its autonomous taxi service in Nashville, extending teen accounts beyond Phoenix for the first time. A parent or guardian must connect the account, after which a teenager can request rides throughout Waymo's 50-square-mile Nashville service area and bring as many as three guests ages 13 to 17. Waymo says Nashville will be the first of multiple teen-account launches in markets with mature operations and permitting regulations. The company did not explain how it will verify riders' ages.
