Blackstone reportedly lowers expected Anthropic credit rating to speculative grade

Blackstone reportedly lowers expected Anthropic credit rating to speculative grade Image: Primary
Blackstone now expects Anthropic to receive a double B range credit rating after its IPO, revising its earlier expectation of an investment-grade rating before 2027, TechCrunch reported, citing the Financial Times. Blackstone communicated the forecast to investors in a recent $63 billion deal financing Anthropic's chips, in which it is the anchor investor. Double B sits at the top of speculative, or "junk," grade. The forecast concerns Anthropic's financing prospects as it funds large compute commitments. Anthropic and Blackstone declined to comment; the forecast is not an assigned credit rating.
