US Series B funding rises as smaller rounds grow scarcer

US Series B funding rises as smaller rounds grow scarcer Image: Primary
Investors have put around $48 billion into US financings around the Series B stage this year, while round counts remain below year-earlier levels, Crunchbase News reported. About two-thirds of the funding went to AI startups, compared with about half in 2025. Less than a third of deals in its sample were under $30 million, versus about half between 2021 and 2025. At least 110 companies raised $100 million or more. The sample includes rounds of $1 million or more and some financings with Series B characteristics that were not explicitly announced as Series B deals.
