Frontline Education is notifying school districts that attackers stole employee information, including Social Security numbers, after exploiting a vulnerability in third-party software, BleepingComputer reported. District administrators reported receiving notifications on October 1; Frontline's notification says its security team identified the vulnerability on August 14, 2026. One district's notice identified 1,210 affected employees, with email and physical addresses also exposed. Frontline will handle individual notifications unless districts opt out by October 16, and affected adults are offered two years of credit monitoring and identity theft protection. The total number of affected districts and individuals remains unclear.
