AT&T has agreed to establish a $177 million settlement fund following two data breaches that exposed personal information and call records, the South Florida Times reported. The agreement allocates $149 million to claims tied to the breach disclosed in March 2024 and $28 million to the incident disclosed in July 2024. The March disclosure involved a dataset containing information dating back to 2019, including Social Security numbers. The July disclosure concerned records illegally downloaded from a third-party cloud platform. Customers may qualify for up to $7,500, depending on which breach affected them and the evidence they can provide; affected customers will not all receive that amount.
