Tesla tests two dozen Cybercabs on Detroit-area roads

Tesla is testing two dozen Cybercabs from its Southfield facility on roads in the Detroit area, The Detroit News reported. The vehicles have test drivers using temporary steering wheels, although the two-seat design is intended to operate without a steering wheel in public service. The testing extends Cybercab operations into Michigan's multi-season environment. Waymo began fully autonomous testing in the region in October. Waymo has no timeline for public service in Detroit, and Tesla could not be reached for comment on its deployment timeline.
