Google brings agentic AI browsing to Chrome Enterprise
Image: Primary Google announced plans to bring agentic AI capabilities to Chrome Enterprise users as part of its Cloud Next announcements on Wednesday. The "auto browse" feature uses Gemini to understand context across open browser tabs and automate tasks like booking travel, inputting data, and scheduling meetings.
Google suggests enterprise use cases including entering information into CRM systems based on content in Google Docs, comparing vendor pricing across tabs, summarizing candidate portfolios before interviews, and extracting data from competitor product pages.
The company is also introducing "Skills" for Chrome Enterprise, which allow administrators to configure browser-based workflows without writing code. A new "Gemini Summary" feature will generate concise overviews of web pages and documents.
Security enhancements include expanded phishing and malware protection, plus new controls for managing extensions and data access permissions. Google says the updates are designed to help enterprises adopt AI tools while maintaining compliance and security standards.
The Chrome Enterprise features will roll out in the coming months, with auto browse available first to organizations enrolled in Google's early access program.
