FBI arrests suspected ShinyHunters member linked to agency breach

FBI arrests suspected ShinyHunters member linked to agency breach Image: Primary
The FBI arrested another suspected ShinyHunters member believed to be involved in the FBIJobs breach, Director Kash Patel announced Friday. The New York Times identified the suspect as a Canadian citizen arrested in Pennsylvania and considered a primary co-conspirator in the intrusion. The FBI says the breach originated on a contractor-managed platform that failed to install a security update. Data samples reviewed by BleepingComputer and other outlets exposed employee information, including home addresses, Social Security numbers and sensitive job assignments. Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect or specified the charges. A new ShinyHunters leak site has launched following recent arrests, suggesting some members remain active.
