AWS brings Network Load Balancer to Phoenix Local Zone

AWS says customers can now create a Network Load Balancer directly in its Phoenix Local Zone, allowing connections to application resources there to stay within the zone. Previously, customers had to place the load balancer in the parent Region, sending connections and traffic there and back. AWS says local routing delivers lower and more consistent latency for users in the Phoenix metro area. The change supports latency-sensitive workloads such as real-time gaming, media streaming and live financial applications. The announced availability covers the Phoenix Local Zone identified as us-west-2-phx-2a.
