Google and Oracle plan TPU deployment on OCI starting in 2027

Google and Oracle plan TPU deployment on OCI starting in 2027 Image: Primary
Google Cloud and Oracle announced plans to deploy Google's Tensor Processing Units on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure starting in calendar year 2027. The companies say OCI will become the first hyperscaler outside Google to offer the AI accelerators. The deployment would let Oracle customers run model fine-tuning and inference alongside their existing enterprise data, avoiding cross-cloud transfers. Oracle plans to connect the TPU clusters to its databases and storage through its Acceleron networking infrastructure. Customers would have TPUs alongside GPUs to assign different stages of AI workloads to different accelerators; deployment has yet to begin.
