Inertia says it cut fusion fuel-pellet production from days to hours
Image: Primary Fusion startup Inertia Enterprises says it reduced the time to make a fuel pellet from several days to two or three hours, with crystal growth taking about 30 minutes. The company says the process was developed with help from the National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Its planned commercial plant would use 10 pellets per second and a laser four times as powerful as NIF's.
