Google starts Pixel 11 preview of Gemini business calls

Google is rolling out an early preview that lets Gemini make calls to local businesses for Pixel 11 users in the US, The Verge reports. A user can ask the assistant to make a reservation, check stock or change an appointment without starting the call personally. Gemini introduces itself, navigates automated menus, waits on hold and speaks with the business. The user can follow a live transcript and take over at any point. Access is limited to paying Gemini subscribers enrolled in the Phone by Google public beta. Google previously offered a narrower business-calling feature that did not let users take over its calls.
