Bithumb investigates data leak after internal mobile system breach Image: Primary
South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb is investigating a data leak after hackers breached its internal mobile system, Yonhap reported Wednesday. The exchange is examining whether member information was involved; it has not confirmed that customer data leaked. Bithumb discovered the breach Tuesday and notified the Korea Internet & Security Agency and the Personal Information Protection Commission that day. Employees use the affected system for internal communication and information sharing. Bithumb told Yonhap that the internal work system is separate from its virtual asset trading system and that customer virtual assets cannot be accessed through this breach.
