OpenAI warns business Mastercard declines can interrupt API credit purchases

OpenAI Status Image: Primary
OpenAI says payment declines affecting some U.S. business Mastercards, including some Brex cards, can block automatic API balance recharges and one-time credit purchases. Customers whose prepaid balances run out may see API requests fail. The company recommends adding a card from a different issuer before the next payment, even for customers who have not experienced a decline. Customers with failed credit purchases should retry using the replacement card. OpenAI says it is working with payment partners.
