LG Energy Solution starts battery-cell production at Lansing plant Image: Primary
LG Energy Solution began production Tuesday at its Lansing, Michigan battery plant, a site originally planned as a GM joint venture before GM sold its stake in December 2024. The plant will supply cells for Toyota's 2027 Highlander EV and is making lithium iron phosphate cells for grid storage. Dedicated lines for Tesla's Megapack 3 are due in 2027. LG says the site is designed for more than 35 GWh of annual output at full scale. The source does not state current output.
