Salt and Sunrise sign rural Swiss network-sharing MoU
Image: DCD Swiss telecom operators Salt and Sunrise have signed a memorandum of understanding to assess sharing network infrastructure in rural and less densely populated parts of Switzerland.
The companies will examine radio-access-network sharing under a multioperator core network model, in which selected antenna sites would connect to both operators' core networks. Each says it would retain its own core network, licences, spectrum control and commercial decisions. Any definitive agreement depends on the study phase and operational, economic, legal and regulatory reviews.
