Chrome Web Store removes remaining Manifest V2 extensions

Google has removed all remaining Manifest V2 browser extensions from the Chrome Web Store, including uBlock Origin, according to webiterate.dev. Extensions already installed on Chrome 138 or earlier will remain installed but cannot receive updates or be reinstalled through the store. The change also affects Chromium-based browser users who rely on the store for discovery, although Brave says it will host four selected Manifest V2 extensions itself. Google has said Manifest V3 improves security, privacy and performance.
