AWS adds organization-wide software inventory to Security Hub

AWS says Security Hub now provides a continuously updated inventory of software installed across an organization's compute resources. It builds the inventory automatically from software bills of materials generated by Amazon Inspector for EC2 instances, ECR container images and Lambda functions. Security teams can filter packages by attributes, account and region, inspect installed software on individual resources and query the inventory through the Security Hub API. The feature is included in Security Hub Essentials at no additional cost across all regions where Security Hub is available, but populates only where Amazon Inspector is enabled.
