Amazon says it has ended government NDAs for data center projects

Amazon says it has ended government NDAs for data center projects Image: Primary
Amazon announced Friday that it has stopped using nondisclosure agreements with government agencies on data center projects, Yahoo Finance reported. Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer David Zapolsky said local officials must be able to communicate openly with the people they represent. The change follows an investigation launched last week by Representative Jamie Raskin into Amazon, Google, Meta Platforms and Oracle over secrecy agreements with local officials. Raskin demanded the agreements and projected electricity and water usage. Amazon also pledged more than $1 billion over five years for communities where it operates data centers.
