Google begins limiting free Gemini accounts to Flash-Lite

Google begins limiting free Gemini accounts to Flash-Lite Image: Primary
Free personal Gemini accounts begin moving to Flash-Lite only today, losing access to Flash and Pro, The Next Web reported, citing Google's Gemini Apps Help page. AI Plus subscribers will retain Flash-Lite and Flash but lose Pro; Google says an email will explain when the change applies to them. AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers retain all three models. Google is also adding low, medium and high effort levels for each model. Its help page says higher effort can improve task completion and produce more thorough answers while consuming more of a user's usage allowance. AI Pro subscribers will also gain Deep Think, a reasoning option previously limited to Ultra plans.
