Microsoft plans Teams support for deepfake detection and impersonation warnings

Microsoft plans Teams support for deepfake detection and impersonation warnings Image: Primary
Microsoft plans to add third-party deepfake detection and impersonation protection to Teams meetings, with worldwide general availability scheduled for November. Microsoft 365 Roadmap entries place both features in development. Certified third-party providers will analyze meeting audio and video for synthetic or manipulated content and send detection signals to Teams, which will surface them through meeting experiences and controls. A separate impersonation feature will warn users about potentially deceptive organizers or participants and display risk indicators when they join or take part in meetings.
