Apple opens orders for $299 Apple TV 4K with hands-free Siri Image: Primary
Apple announced a $299 Apple TV 4K with three microphones for hands-free Siri commands and opened preorders on October 13. Store availability begins November 13. Apple also says Siri AI is available in beta on Apple TV 4K models from the second generation onward, with English support in eight countries at launch. The new A19 chip includes an AV1 decoder for streaming with less bandwidth. Apple claims up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the previous generation. Siri AI requires the home owner to have an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad; features using server-side models face daily usage limits.
