Two unions representing roughly 10,000 Micron workers in Taiwan are preparing members for a possible strike vote over bonus calculations, Reuters reported. About 80% of workers in a preliminary survey supported industrial action. The unions want Micron to replace its Incentive Pay Plan with profit sharing; the source says annual Taiwan performance bonuses are capped at 200% of target, while actual payouts have averaged about 2.6 months of salary. Mediation was scheduled for late August and mid-September.
