UK air-traffic-control fault disrupts flights after system recovery Image: Primary
A fault in Nats' flight-processing system caused hundreds of cancellations and delays at UK airports, with disruption also reported in Scotland, Ireland and elsewhere in Europe. Nats said the system issue had been resolved and normal operations were resuming, but recovery was taking longer than hoped. Heathrow suspended arrivals for the remainder of the day, while British Airways said it cancelled or diverted more than 100 flights. Ryanair said more than 65,000 passengers had been delayed by as much as eight hours.
