Google expands SynthID detection to media from other AI providers

Google expands SynthID detection to media from other AI providers Image: Primary
Google has expanded its SynthID Detector to check images, videos and audio from OpenAI, NVIDIA and Kakao, Mashable reported. Google says support for AI-generated media from Apple will follow. Users can upload files at synthid.com after signing in with a Google, Apple or ChatGPT account. The tool checks for an invisible watermark embedded by supported AI models and reports whether it finds one. Its reach depends on that watermark: AI-generated content without a SynthID watermark cannot be identified by the detector.
