Google Now Lets Mac Users Talk To Gemini In Virtually Any App Image: Primary
Google announced that Mac users can now talk to Gemini in virtually any app. The feature is available in app version 1.88 and allows users to summon a floating pill interface by long-pressing the Fn key. This system-wide shortcut enables voice input over third-party applications without losing cursor focus or workflow placement. The update includes advanced speech-to-text transcription that removes filler sounds and corrects mid-sentence errors, as well as an opt-in desktop screen reasoning mode that lets Gemini process visual information from highlighted files, documents, or images on the monitor.
