Serval raises $150m at $3bn valuation for employee support agents

Serval raises $150m at $3bn valuation for employee support agents Image: Primary
Serval announced a $150m Series C led by Sequoia at a $3bn valuation, three times the $1bn valuation it reached in December. The employee support automation company has now raised $277m in total. Its Catalyst agent turns business requirements into tools, with administrators managing permission checks and approvals. Chief executive Jake Stauch said the agent used to build tools is separate from the one employees use, and customers generally still want human approval for sensitive actions such as password resets. Serval plans to hire more than 500 people over the next 12 months. More than 100 will join ProServal, a new professional services arm whose automation engineers will work inside customer teams.
