ANYbotics tests controlled-door access for industrial inspection robots

ANYbotics and partners dormakaba and LEGIC Identsystems have tested a system that lets ANYmal inspection robots pass through controlled doors at GE Vernova's Whitegate power plant in Ireland. The companies said the robots repeatedly requested access, crossed the doors and completed inspection routes without manual intervention during several weeks of testing. For locked doors, a robot carries a digital credential that requests entry from dormakaba's access system under permissions set by the plant. For unlocked doors, a sensor can trigger a retrofitted door operator. ANYbotics says the add-on will become available for current deployments and future ANYmal hardware later this year; the reported operating results come from the pilot.
