India notifies Semicon 2.0 incentives for chip supply chain
Image: Primary India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has notified Semicon 2.0, a ₹1,27,500 crore semiconductor programme that extends support beyond fabrication and assembly to chip design, deployment, equipment, materials, research and talent. The scheme offers support of up to 30% for equipment and materials projects, 35% for compound semiconductor, photonics and sensor fabs, and 40% for silicon wafer fabs. It also sets investment, revenue and ownership thresholds for applicants across the programme's six segments.
