Samsung reports higher Americas assets as Taylor fab buildout advances

Samsung Electronics said Aug. 18 that its non-current assets in the Americas, including semiconductor fabs, totaled 40.6414 trillion won at the end of June, up 47.8% from year-end. The company is investing $37 billion in two Taylor, Texas, plants; the first is due to begin operations this year, while the second is preparing for a late-year groundbreaking and targets mass production in 2030. The plants are contract-chip facilities intended to supply AI chips to U.S. Big Tech customers, according to the report.
