Korea Telecom has suspended new 3G subscriptions as it shifts toward LTE and 5G services, DCD reported. The carrier also suspended number porting and device changes, including SIM card changes, for 3G devices and LTE devices that do not support HD Voice. KT launched its 3G network in 2003. Rival SK Telecom stopped selling new 3G subscriptions over the summer. Money Today puts KT's remaining 3G customer base at around 68,000, or 0.5 percent of its mobile subscribers; KT did not disclose its own count.
