Adobe accelerates Frame.io video search with NVIDIA GPUs

Adobe accelerates Frame.io video search with NVIDIA GPUs Image: Primary
Adobe is using NVIDIA GPUs to accelerate Frame.io video search, with NVIDIA reporting about 5x faster embedding generation, up to 4x higher throughput and up to 5x lower search-processing latency. The companies highlighted the work at an event in Berlin today. The pipeline uses GPU video decoding and optimized AI inference to make footage searchable by concept, action or setting. A new two-frame-per-second proxy is about 80% smaller than the 360p version it replaces, reducing storage and transfer requirements. German producer UFA uses Frame.io to find moments in its archives. Editors can combine semantic searches with character names and approval filters; the reported speed improvements concern search processing.
