Tennessee granted Type One Energy a license for a commercial fusion machine, according to the report. The state created a licensing program for fusion machines after the Nuclear Regulatory Commission allowed state regulation of fusion energy. Type One plans to break ground this year on Project Infinity at TVA's Bull Run Energy Complex and expects a 400-megawatt stellarator-based power plant, Infinity Two, to be operational by 2034.
