BYD adds claimed five-minute charging to three Seagull trims

The new Seagull's ultra-fast charging juices it up from 10% to 70% in a five minutes Image: Primary
BYD has launched five Seagull trims, with the three higher-priced versions offering a claimed 10% to 70% battery charge in five minutes. Those versions start at 75,900 yuan and require BYD's dedicated Flash Charging infrastructure, effectively limiting the feature to China for now. The three trims use a 39.2-kWh battery with a CLTC-rated range of 420 km. The two entry-level versions, priced at 65,900 yuan and 72,900 yuan, lack Flash Charging and use a 30.1-kWh battery rated for 320 km. Private buyers of the three higher-spec versions for non-commercial use receive 12 months of free charging at BYD's dedicated stations from delivery.
