Ars Technica reported that the Trump administration has reduced Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality staffing by an estimated 75%, while July cancellation letters affected about 150 researchers. More than 100 grants collectively worth over $250 million have been canceled, the report said. Congress appropriated $345 million for fiscal 2026, but the article said only $15 million had gone to grants so far, leaving researchers in more than 30 states to halt work or lay off staff.
