Sony cancels promised Android 17 upgrade for Xperia 10 VI

Sony cancels promised Android 17 upgrade for Xperia 10 VI Image: Primary
Sony has canceled the Xperia 10 VI's promised Android 17 upgrade, citing a limitation in the phone's storage configuration. The company says its technical assessment found that the device could not deliver an upgrade experience it considered adequate. The phone launched in 2024 with Android 14 and a commitment to three Android operating-system upgrades. Android 17 would have been the final promised upgrade. Sony says it will still provide security updates for four years from launch and that the issue will not affect other Xperia models.
