Russia authorizes temporary control of unsecured critical infrastructure

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on August 24 allowing the government to temporarily take control of critical infrastructure when private owners cannot secure or repair facilities after external attacks. The measure covers fuel, energy, transport, communications and industrial logistics. Rosimushchestvo or another designated state entity may act as temporary manager and assume control over physical assets, financial holdings, securities and ownership rights.
