Zalando adds outside retailers' products and plans AI checkout in 2027

Zalando adds outside retailers' products and plans AI checkout in 2027 Image: Primary
Zalando introduced Zalando Extended, a feature that brings other online retailers' products into its app even when Zalando does not sell them directly, The Next Web reported. Home retailer Westwing is the first pilot partner, starting with larger home goods. From 2027, Zalando plans to let its AI agent complete purchases for customers without sending them to another website. The expansion accompanied third-quarter revenue of €3.18bn, up 5.1% year on year. Revenue from business services, including logistics and software for other brands, grew 27.9% to €354m. Gross margin fell 0.9 percentage points to 38.7%; Zalando attributed the decline to pricing, discounts and the growing contribution of its lower-margin business-to-business division.
