US sanctions Iran-linked cyber actors tied to infrastructure breaches
Image: Primary The U.S. Treasury announced sanctions targeting nearly 60 Iran-linked entities, individuals and vessels across nuclear, missile, oil and cyber networks, according to The Hacker News. The action includes a group affiliated with Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security that the Treasury says was behind compromises of U.S. critical-infrastructure entities and financially motivated cyber theft. Five named people had been indicted by the Justice Department last week in connection with widespread compromises of U.S. entities, the report says.
