Encore says Solstar demonstrated spacecraft Wi-Fi during NASA mission

Solstar demonstrated a space-to-space Wi-Fi connection during NASA's R5-S10 proximity operations mission, investor Encore Technologies announced. Its Deke Space Communicator linked NASA's CubeSat with Momentus' Vigoride-7 orbital service vehicle and relayed information to NASA personnel at Johnson Space Center through Iridium. Encore said Deke collected more than 2,300 files during approximately 30 minutes of proximity operations, including imagery and optical, infrared and LiDAR sensor data. The demonstration establishes a reported operational use in orbit; applications to commercial space stations and lunar operations remain potential uses.
