Analysis puts iPhone 18 Pro storage upgrade cost at $192 against $600 price

Analysis puts iPhone 18 Pro storage upgrade cost at $192 against $600 price Image: Primary
Apple charges $600 to move from 256GB to 1TB on the iPhone 18 Pro, against an estimated direct cost of $192, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis cited by 9to5Mac. The equivalent iPhone 17 Pro upgrade cost buyers $400 and had an estimated direct cost of $42. The comparison comes as Apple warned that higher memory costs will reduce its holiday-quarter profit margins. The new storage upgrade price remains more than three times the estimated direct cost, but that comparison does not measure Apple's total cost of selling the device.
