the next big competitive advantage in tech. it's understanding why things happen not just what happens That's companies like Google and Meta. answer questions like, did our ad actually cause this purchase? rather than simply predicting or estimating. the amount of people that would engage with a certain advertisement like most machine learning models. causal estimation and causal machine learning. something that most small players can't afford to build. becoming a moat that's really hard to cross. little reference to our AI and Junior Analysts article from Joey. investment banking is going through an identity crisis right now. Junior analysts are doing work that AI can now handle. models, memos, market research, the question isn't just about jobs. about whether the traditional 100-hour work week apprenticeship model. It doesn't even make sense anymore when a model can run a DCF and stuff.
